Back to School is NO Joking Matter

Back to school is NO JOKING MATTER, but my friends and I at Freebie-licious wanted to brighten your day by giving you some things to laugh about. We start our teacher workshops and working in our classrooms on Monday and the little ones come the following Monday. Getting Ready Part 2.....

Last year when I was rethinking some of the activities I was doing in my classroom, I made a list of centers that the children really enjoyed doing over the years and that were successful in their learning process. From that I created Success Kits to be used for small group, independent learning and RTI. They have so many different activites in them at all different levels. I wanted to make sure they were going to meet the needs of all my learners. They really improved my student's scores and even when we would have extra time or indoor recess the kids would ask to play the "games." It was a win, win situation for me. I love when children want to learn and they do not even know they are learning! So I wanted to make sure that I shared them with you. These were such a big hit with everyone last year.

Getting Ready........

Well, we all knew it would come to an end soon, but the excitement of seeing those little ones enter the classroom will make it all worth while. To be part of a new group of students is an amazing feeling! The most important part is to start off your year right. Make your students feel successful from the minute they walk into the classroom. To do this, I have been going through and pulling out some of my favorite things to start my year. I was looking for activities that my little ones can work on independently if I am pulling children to test or just get to know them. I thought I would share some of my favorite, tried and true activities!
